I'm Melody, the person behind the lens

I fell in love with travel, adventure and photography at a young age, always wandering off somewhere with my camera in hand. On a 5 month trip to South Africa, I fell head over heals with documenting genuine moments by sharing my story and the story of those I met along the way.

My trip to South Africa lead me to pursue a professional education in photography, I received a diploma from the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts. During my experience, I was able to develop my technical knowledge as a photographer, as well as allow my passion for creating powerful images to flourish.

Along with photography, I also enjoy hiking, the outdoors and road trips, all of which is made better accompanied by a great cup of coffee!

In these environments I feel at ease and most like myself. I strive to create the same stress-free experience while photographing my clients!

I'm based in Kamloops BC, canada, yet also available for work all over the world!

Getting my picture taken is one of my least favorite things to do. Unless Melody is behind the camera. I have NEVER felt more comfortable than I did with her and am so grateful for the beautiful memories she captured of the biggest day of my life. We can’t say enough about Melody and her work! We were lucky to be introduced to Melody after winning an engagement photoshoot from the Kamloops Bridal Fair — the photos she captured for us are amazing. She was flexible and approachable in setting up our shoot and was prompt with getting us copies of the photos. She helped us feel comfortable during the shoot and captured us beautifully. We had her shoot our wedding where she did a great job in managing COVID requirements, family photos, couples photos, and the ceremony. She was

present for all of it but was not obvious in her presence; she is creative but listens and seems to get what you want by getting to know you during the shoot. We will definitely have Melody do more.
